Ingredients of Namak pare

  1. Prepare 1 cup of All Purpose Flour/ Maida.
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp of Fine Semolina/ Sooji.

  4. You need 1/2 tsp of Carom Seeds/ Ajwain.
  5. It’s 2 tbsp of Ghee Oil for frying.

Namak pare step by step

  1. Mix maida, sooji, salt, ajwain and ghee in a bowl.Mix nicely..
  2. Add a few tbsp of water at a time and mix to make a tight dough..
  3. Cover the dough and keep aside for 10-15 minutes..
  4. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan..
  5. Divide the dough in 2 parts and roll each in a thin circle..
  6. Cut the circle in long rectangles or diamonds..
  7. Heat oil for frying in a pan and when it is hot, simmer the heat..
  8. Fry the namakpare on low heat till golden brown..
  9. Keep in mind that these will continue to brown a bit even after taking out from oil..
  10. Remove from oil on a tissue lined plate..
  11. Cool and store in an airtight container for up to 10-15 days..
