- You need 1/4 cup of Chopped Onions.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of Chopped Tomatoes.
- Prepare 5 tsp of Oil.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Mustard Seeds / Rai.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of Cumin Seeds / Jeera.
- Take 2 tsp of Peanuts / Groundnuts / Mungfali.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of Asafoetida / Hing.
- Make ready 1/2 tsp of Chana Dal / bengal gram.
- Prepare 3 to 4 nos of Slit Green Chillies.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of Turmeric Powder / Haldi.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of Coriander Powder / Dhaniya.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Garam Masala.
- Prepare 3/4 tsp of Salt.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Grated Garlic.
- You need handful of Fresh Coriander.

Toor Dal Khichdi | Tuvar Dal Khichdi step by step
- In a heating pan, add 5 tsp of Oil and allow it to heat up nicely..
- Add ½ tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), ½ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera), 2 tsp of Groundnut (Mungfali), ¼ tsp of Asafoetida (Hing), ½ tsp of Chana Dal, ¼ cup of chopped Onions, 3 to 4 nos. of slit Green Chillies and sauté for 2 min. on medium flame..
- Then add ¼ cup of chopped Tomatoes and sauté for more 1 min..
- Furthermore, add 1 cup of washed Toor Dal and mix well..
- Then add ¼ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), ¼ tsp of Coriander Powder (Dhaniya), ½ tsp of Garam Masala and mix well..
- Now add 1 cup of washed Rice, 4 cups of Water, ¾ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of grated Garlic and give a nice stir..
- Cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 15 – 20 min..
- Lastly add handful of freshly chopped Coriander and mix well..
