Ingredients of Palak dal (spinach with tur dal)
- It’s 1 cup of tuar dal (soak for 1/2 an hour).
- Take 1 tsp of each ginger and garlic chopped.
- You need to taste of Salt.
- You need 1 of tomato finely chopped.
- Take 2 tbsp or more of Coriander leaves chopped.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of Asofetida(heeng).
- Take 1/2 cup clean wash and chopped of Spinach.
- Take 1 of onion chopped finely.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
- You need 2 tbs of butter or ghee for tadka.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- Take of Extra 1/2 tsp chopped garlic.
- It’s 1 of green chilli chopped.
- Prepare of ghee as needed.

- Boil the dal in 2/1/2 cup of water adding salt,turmeric, heeng,ginger garlic chopped and with palak (spinach)put all these in pressure cooker.
- After one whistle reduce the flame and two more whistles will be needed it may depends upon the quality of dal after cool then open the cooker and if needed more water then add again 1/2 cup of hot water and mix softly.
- Now heat a pan adding ghee when little heat add cumin seeds extra chopped garlic saute for a little by adding onion when golden brown add chopped tomatoes.
- When tomato soft and mushy add red chilli powder and off the gas pour on ready palak dal and sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot with roti chapatti and rice..
